3 Ingredient Cheese Shortbread from FAB Flour Easy Peasy Baking Campaign

Designed to be really simple and accessible – these cheese shortbread biscuits don’t use a lot of ingredients, use simple equipment and still deliver great results.

3 Ingredient Cheese Shortbreads

Ingredients

  • 150 g self-raising flour
  • 100 g salted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 75 g grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan) and line your baking tray with parchment.

  2. In the mixing bowl, crumble the grated cheese with your fingers to make it as fine as possible. Remove 25g and set to one side.

  3. Add the flour, followed by the butter into the remaining cheese, then bring it together with your fingers until a dough is formed.

  4. Tip the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to a thickness of about 5mm, then cut out rounds using the cutter or alternative.

  5. Place onto the baking tray, then sprinkle each biscuit using the remaining 25g of crumbled cheese.

  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden, then allow to cool before serving.
