Bring sparkle and glamour to your cake decorating with Rainbow Dust Colours' metallic food paints. All you need is to cut some flowers from paste and then indulge your artistic side.

You will need

For the flowers

  Rainbow Dust Metallic Food Paint – black and dark gold

  white flower paste

  edible glue

  royal icing

Equipment

  5 petal rose cutter

  small circle cutter

  fine paintbrush

Instructions

1 Firstly, roll out your flower paste, then use a five petal flower cutter to cut out each shape, and use a small circle cutter to cut out the centres. Secure each circle shape with edible glue into the centre of each flower shape. Place these into a flower former to dry.

2 Start by painting a swirl type design into the centre of each petal using Black Metallic Food Paint and a fine paintbrush.

3 Paint around the outer edge of each flower shape and the circle shape centre using Dark Gold Metallic Food Paint. Leave to dry.

4 When dry, secure the flowers in place, onto your cake using royal icing.

5 Use the same flower design to decorate cupcakes, rather than a cake.
