You will need:

Edibles:

Equipment:

  • 100g white sugarpaste
  • Gel Colours: Chocolate and Lemon (Magic Colours Pro Gel)
  • lustre dust: royal gold (Magic Colours)
  • small amount of vodka
  • clay extruder
  • paintbrush

1

Take 100g white sugarpaste and add a few drops of chocolate and lemon yellow pro gels to create a gold colour. Use your clay extruder with the small rope fitting to make lengths of rope then twist to achieve the rope effect.

2

Brush the top edge of the blue panel with a little water and stick the rope all the way around the edge.

3

Make another small length of rope, twist and then tie into a knot shape. Check you are happy with the size against the cake, then leave to dry.

4

Mix up the royal gold dust with a little vodka to create a paint, and then carefully paint the rope and the knot.

5

Once dry, attach the knot to the right hand side of the front of the cake with a little edible glue.
