Shake off your BBC/Channel 4 sorrows, because it looks like the BBC might just have found the next success... The broadcaster has announced a new amateur cookery show with the working title The Big Family Cooking Challenge. According to the BBC press office, the show will feature family teams of home cooks who will be competing against each other, with the judges visiting homes to deliver the challenges and decide who will be declared the nation's best home cooks. Sounds a bit like Bake Off, but with a wider range of food plus added family dynamics – is this the perfect feel-good TV show we've been waiting for? Volatage TV are in the process of develiping the show and it's already in pre-production, with the first episode due to grace your screens on BBC Two next summer.

Donna Clark, says: “I’m thrilled to be taking food competitions in a different direction. A passion for food starts in the family kitchen and this format will take us into homes up and down the country where we’ll meet Britain’s most passionate and exciting families of cooks.”
