The Queen of Couture Cakes is set to present an exclusive cake recipe at the Althorp Food and Drink Festival!Returning on the 11th and 12th of May 2019, the Althorp Food and Drink Festival is set to present over 100 diverse stands, as well as host some of the best culinary events and experiences on offer in the UK this spring. Renowned baker Mich Turner MBE will be headlining the festival, and fans can expect to see her present her exclusive Althorp Layer Cake recipe, and there will be opportunity to attend a masterclass ran by Mich. This Cake Decorating Masterclass will show each attendee how to decorate their own Cool Britannia Crown Cake, the same cake that Mich baked for the Queen, with piped candy stripes and a hand-moulded red rose.
Mich adds: “I am thrilled to be appearing again at the Althorp Food & Drink Festival this year, and have created a unique cake to celebrate the occasion. "What better a way to start the summer than cake decorating within the grounds of a such a glorious and historic British Estate, where I will be demonstrating my Althorp Layer Cake recipe designed exclusively for the Festival, and taken from my forthcoming book, ‘Everyday Bakes to Showstopper Cakes’. "It’s my passion to keep Britain baking and demonstrate how easy and creative baking can be.”Along with the Queen, Mich has baked for Madonna, Pierce Brosnan, David Beckham and Simon Cowell, and has baked over 10,000 in her career so far. Tickets to the Althorp Food and Drink Festival start at £9 per person for a day ticket, and children under 12 are free with a paying adult. The Mich Turner masterclass costs £45 for a 1.5h class.
