The wait is almost over for the return of Cake International - the world’s biggest and best-loved cake decorating show! Taking place at the NEC, Birmingham this November, spectacular features will be on display alongside over 1,300 expected competition pieces.
For 23 years, Cake International has wowed cake decorators and bakers with its jaw dropping displays plus a massive line-up of demonstrations and workshops with international sugarcraft stars. The 2017 event, taking place from 3 – 5 November is set to be another showstopper with international guest Karen Portaleo - the Queen of Sculpted Cakes - due to demonstrate her incredible skills live!
Other cake decorating talent includes Emma Jayne, Rhianydd Webb and Michael Lewis-Anderson who will be displaying spectacular, creative installations. Claire Anderson of Clairella Cakes will be demonstrating herairbrushing skills live over the three days.
As well as individual cake artists, see features made by sugarcraft experts who’ve collaborated to create two stunning installations - An Edwardian Christmas and Snow White: The Grimm Obsession. Sugar Show Productions, a UK collective of cake decorators have created An Edwardian Christmas - a magical scene complete with traditional Christmas tree laden with gorgeous decorations – all individually made from sugar. Snow White: The Grimm Obsession is a collaboration of international sugar artists and this darkly themed, walk through piece will feature a life-sized Snow White and huntsman.
