Macarons seem to keep finding new ways to charm us!
Whether they come in unicorn form, or arrive as your favourite emoji, these sweet, colourful treats never seem to get old. Currently seducing us is bringer of heavenly desserts; Yolkin. Born out of the idea of not wanting to waste the yolks when making macarons (that only require egg whites), Yolkin founder Sammie found a recipe to use them in ice cream. The next step in this delicious story? She sandwiched the two together. Is your mouth-watering yet? Us too.
Sadly, Yolkin does not yet have a permanent location where you can feast upon all the macaron ice cream sandwiches you can carry. Instead, Sammie sells the sandwiches on weekends only between 12-4 p.m., currently trading in Covent Garden. Yolkin sells all kinds of fantastic flavours, including classics such as rose and salted caramel, and more unusual treats like toffee crunch, mint brownies, Speculoos and Horlicks, cinnamon toasts, and Reese’s Pieces.
