Equipment Flower paste, sugarpaste, edible glue, carnation cutter, thinning tool, bone tool, CMC/Tylo powder, circle cutters, flower forner, shimmer pearls Carnation Using the 3 sizes of carnation cutter, roll out your chosen colour of  flower paste. Cut out 4 large, 5 medium & 4 small petals & thin the edges using a thinning tool, veiner or even a toothpick. Using a small amount of edible glue place the petals in size order (largest first) on top of one another. When all petals are on top push your bone tool approx half way down into the centre of the petals & remove. Arrange/push the top layer of petals to cover the hole & to create an evenly shaped top. To make your flat base roll your sugarpaste treated with CMC, & cut out using a large circle cutter. This needs to be left to dry (the oven with just the fan on is a great way of drying fondant) so that it holds it shape once the flower is added & put on the cupcake. Step Carnation 458px Ruffle Flower I have used 3 different sized circle cutters for this, but you could use more if you like & even create an ombre effect with the colours. Roll out your flower paste & cut 1 large, 1 medium & 1 small circle. Thin & frill these using a back & forth motion with a toothpick. Lay them on top of each other using edible glue & leave to dry in a flower former. I have added 3 white shimmer pearls to the centre. Make the dome as before, then attach to your cupcakes. Step Ruffle flower
