Cake decorating pro or a complete novice and looking to improve your skills?
Either way this selection of the cake decorating and baking courses are brilliant and they aim to make learning fun!
Bills Edible Art - Northampton
Bill Thompson of Bill’s Edible Art, makes stunning cakes, and provides decorating courses.
“There’s often an emotional reason for booking lessons. Helping overcome such hurdles by imparting skills, and often removing panic, is one of the most satisfying aspects of my job, and a real pleasure,” explained Bill.

Each class is planned around the person’s existing skills, and Bill’s clients range from the very young to the very old. He’s soon to teach a nine-year-old how to decorate her aunt’s wedding cake!
Worried parents often book because their child has asked for a cake in the shape a TV character.
“Doing your homework is vital. Birthday parties are one of the most important events of a child’s year. They’ll notice if something is wrong on their all-important cake, and pre-party meltdowns must be avoided at all costs.
“A grandmother was having sleepless nights over decorating her granddaughter’s wedding cake. We went through everything, and my client had great nights’ sleep from then on, and produced a spectacularly beautiful cake,” commented Bill.
In case you’re wondering just how good Bill’s cake decorating abilities are, he’s won seven awards at Cake International over the past four years.
