The first UK event of its kind, guests are treated to seven rounds of traditional British puddings.
The Pudding Club was first established over 30 years ago as a way to preserve Great British puddings. Throughout October and November 2019, Pudding Club goes on tour across six locations in the UK.
The Pudding Club is usually held every Friday night in Three Ways House Hotel in Chipping Campden, which will continue to run during the tour. Guests can choose to stay in one of the seven pudding themed hotel rooms, and it regularly sells out each week.
For only £29, each stop on the tour will include an evening of entertainment, a light main course followed by seven traditional puddings, all complete with noise and ceremony for guests to taste, enjoy and then vote for their favourite.
The Parade of Seven includes;
- Sticky Toffee and Date Pudding
- Syrup Sponge
- Spotted Dick
- Very Chocolate
- Apple Crumble
- Marmalade Bread and Butter Pudding
- Lemon Meringue Pie
– alongside lashings of delicious Bird’s custard as required!
Emma Gibson, Pudding Master of the Pudding Club said: “Our heartfelt mission since The Pudding Club started has been to preserve the Great British Pudding, and whilst we think we have succeeded in this tradition, we want to expand its reach across the UK.
“Back in the 1980s, if you were to go to a hotel or restaurant the dessert trolley would contain the likes of cheesecake and crème caramel – and supermarkets would offer deserts in a tin and your angel delight. We wanted to maintain the tradition pudding, and over the years more and more people have wanted to come along.
“Our weekly event at the Three Ways Hotel always goes down a treat with the guests, and so we’re delighted to be expanding its offering this autumn: giving more people the chance to divulge in this wonderful tradition. We’d encourage anyone who has as sweet tooth to grab a ticket and join us.”
