Our favourite cakes from The Cake & Bake Show!

The Cake & Bake Show this weekend was a whirlwind of cake! So, if you didn’t manage to attend or if it is still a bit of a blur, we have a recap of all that went down…

The Cake & Bake Show was back again for the fifth year, on Friday 4th until Sunday 6th October. The ExCel Centre in London was packed for Britain’s biggest baking show!

Baking Heaven popped down on Friday to get involved in the action – and what a day we had! From absolutely stunning cakes, to meeting some of our favourite bakers, to watching all the demos on stage, to exploring the never-ending stalls – there was plenty to do!

Here’s a recap of what happened…

First things first – cake! Everywhere you turned there were stunning cake creations on display to ooh and aah over! From incredible stall displays to the official competition tables there was plenty of cake to see. Here are some of our favourites…

Extreme Cake Makers

Molly Robbin’s Noah’s Ark

Zoë Burmester’s Illusion Cake Masterpiece – Cheeky Monkey Bake

Rosie Dummer’s Boris Showstopper

But it was the competition zone that really stood out – and attracted large crowds all day! Here are some of our favourites…

Kids competition

Tim Solvena’s Lobster cake came 2nd place.

Fiona Bull’s noodle bowl came 1st place!

3rd place went to Anti-Gravitea

2nd place – Sarah Hadley’s ‘A Cold One’

1st place winner Sarah Doyle’s ‘Holly Hobby Jigsaw’

Main (illusion cakes)

Melissa Leach’s ‘Snap – 2nd place

1st place winner for the main cake competition was Janet Berry’s incredible slug and lettuce!

Best in Show went to the Toad in the Hole cake!

The display areas weren’t the only place to see some stunning cakes! Many of the stalls also had some fantastic displays…

and the rest!

There was so much more than just wonderful displays at The Cake & Bake Show. The Stage was jam-packed with demos from bakers such as our own columnist Britt Box from She Who Bakes, and Bake Off contestants like Briony May Williams, Karen Wright and Paul Jagger. There was also a kids zone, champagne bar and pamper zone!

Overall, we loved our Cake & Bake show experience. We hoped everyone that came to visit our stall enjoyed themselves too!
